Terms and conditions

These terms govern your use of Syncs (the console and API at console.syncs.co.za, the public website at syncs.co.za, and the mobile app).

Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

User accounts

• You must provide a real name and a valid email address you control.
• Keep your details up to date, including business name and VAT number if you add them.
• You are responsible for your password and for activity on your account. Do not share your login.
• Verify your email when asked. We may limit features until the address is confirmed.
• You must be old enough to enter a contract in South Africa, or use the service with a parent or guardian.

Prohibited behaviour

You may not spam, scrape, or overload the service; attempt to hack or access another person’s data; upload malware or unlawful content; use the service to mislead SARS; or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows.

Intellectual property

Syncs owns the name, logos, design, software, and original content. You keep ownership of the receipts and files you upload. You give us a limited licence to store and process them so we can provide the service, including sending images to our AI provider to read a slip.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is”. AI reading, VAT totals, tax estimates, and SARS refund figures are helpers only and can be wrong. They are not tax, legal, or accounting advice. You remain responsible for checking slips and for any filing you make.

To the fullest extent allowed by South African law, Syncs is not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect loss from your use of the service, downtime, errors, or third-party tools. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or R0 if you paid nothing. We do not exclude liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time in Settings, or request deletion on this site. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. After deletion, your data is removed as described in the privacy policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. South African courts have jurisdiction, unless a consumer-protection law gives you the right to another forum.

Payment terms

Syncs may offer monthly subscriptions for selected plans. Where billing applies, the checkout page will show the current price, billing period, and payment method before you pay.
